Adele

AdeleAdele Mara April 28, 1923 until May 7, 2010.) was an American actress, singer, and dancer, who appeared in films in the 1940s and 1950s[2] as well as on television in the 1950s and 1960s. Adele St. Mara was her name professionally. She got an endorsement from Columbia Pictures [citation needed]. She worked on comedy shorts as well as "B" movies at the studio. This title was quickly changed to Adele Mara. Mara was an assistant receptionist in Three Stooges' film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks as well as Leslie Brooks portrayed the sisters as characters played by Rita Hayworth in Fred Astaire's film You Were Never Lovelier. In Alias Boston Blackie (1942) she plays the main female role as the daughter of an escapee and wrongfully indicted convict. When her Columbia contract expired after which she joined Republic Pictures where she was a regular in outdoor adventures and westerns. She was a part in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch which starred John Wayne, Angels in Exile (leading ladies), Sands of Iwo Jima (John Wayne's love lover), California Passage (leading ladies) and Don Siegel's Count the Hours(supporting role).
